Times Future of Maternity 2026 South Edition
31st October 2026 | Bengaluru"Better-informed families. Better-connected care."
Times Future of Maternity – South India Edition 2026 brings together doctors, healthcare experts, legal professionals, technology specialists and families to examine the questions that matter across the maternity journey.
A Look Back
Event Glimpses
About the Summit
South India has made considerable progress in maternal health, but the maternity journey continues to raise difficult questions for women and families. The latest government data put India's Maternal Mortality Ratio at 88 per 100,000 live births for 2021–23, while southern states' figures vary considerably. Andhra Pradesh recorded 30, Kerala 30, Tamil Nadu 35, Telangana 59 and Karnataka 68.
The next phase of maternity care therefore goes beyond access to childbirth services. It involves making informed decisions about birth, identifying risks early, ensuring timely emergency care, protecting women's rights, preparing for pregnancy and supporting mothers after delivery.
This comes at a time when the Government of India has introduced the SUMAN Roadmap 2030, with a continuum-of-care approach spanning pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. The roadmap places particular emphasis on high-risk pregnancy identification and management, quality emergency obstetric care, referral systems, Caesarean-section practices, digital health and AI-enabled care.
Against this backdrop, Times Future of Maternity – South India Edition 2026 brings together doctors, healthcare experts, legal professionals, technology specialists and families to examine the questions that matter across the maternity journey.
From C-section and vaginal birth to maternity rights, pre-pregnancy health, maternal safety, postnatal recovery and AI-enabled care, the summit aims to make complex maternity decisions easier to understand while examining how the healthcare ecosystem can deliver safer, more responsive and better-connected care.

The journey so far
From the National Edition to the South: building a more connected maternity ecosystem.
The Times Future of Maternity National Edition, held in Delhi on 28 March 2026, brought together 450+ delegates spanning hospitals, doctors, consultants, expecting and future parents, and people seeking guidance across the maternity journey. The South Edition builds on that foundation with a sharper regional lens and a new set of conversations in Bengaluru.
